    One-way car rental allows you to pick up a vehicle at one location and return it to a different location. With RealCar's one-way rental service, you can rent a car in NYC, drive to another city or state, and drop it off at your destination—no need to return it to the original pickup location.
    How does booking and returning a one-way rental work?
    Book your vehicle with RealCar and choose between delivery to your location or pickup from our NYC locations. Drive to your destination, and when your trip is complete, we'll arrange pickup of the vehicle from your final location and handle the return transportation. Simple, convenient, and hassle-free.
    Is there an additional fee for one-way rentals?
    Yes, one-way rentals include an additional fee to cover the cost of transporting the vehicle back to its origin location and the rental days during return transit. The fee varies based on distance and destination. Contact us for a detailed quote specific to your travel plans.
    What are the requirements to qualify for a one-way rental?
    To qualify for a one-way rental with RealCar, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license with at least three years of driving experience. You'll also need a credit card for payment, along with a valid phone number and email address for booking confirmation and communication.
    Where can I travel with the one-way rental service?
    You can travel anywhere within the United States and Canada with our one-way rental service by https://realcar.nyc/. There are no distance restrictions—drive coast to coast or across the border at your convenience.
  • Are there distance or mileage restrictions?
    No, but standard mileage allowances apply: 200 miles/day, 1,000 miles/week, or 3,000 miles/month. Additional miles are $0.75 each. You can also choose unlimited mileage for unrestricted travel.
    Are last-minute one-way rentals available?
    Yes, last-minute one-way rentals are available and follow the same booking process as standard rentals. While we accommodate last-minute requests regularly, we do experience high demand during major holidays. For the best selection and guaranteed availability, especially during peak seasons, early booking is advised.
    Can I add additional drivers to my rental?
    Yes, you can add additional drivers during the booking process or through your RealCar profile at any time. Please ensure all additional driver information is submitted before your trip begins, as it's required for insurance coverage.
    Do you accept foreign driver’s licenses?
    Yes, we accept foreign driver's licenses for one-way rentals. You'll need:
    • Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience
    • Passport from your home country
