The Great Apple Escape

Published:  |  3 min read (624 words)

There’s something special about leaving Manhattan behind when autumn arrives in New York. The busy streets give way to quiet country roads, rolling hills, and trees dressed in shades of gold, orange, and red.

This time, we took a Porsche Macan on a little fall escape - trading the city skyline for apple orchards, fresh cider, and a few delicious stops along the way.

Autumn on the Road

Autumn transforms the roads of New York into a landscape of vibrant colors.
Golden, orange, and deep red leaves frame the winding country roads,
while sunlight filters through the trees.
Every turn reveals another beautiful view, making the drive just as memorable as the destinations themselves.
It's the perfect season to slow down and enjoy the journey.

Masker Orchards

Nothing says fall in New York quite like apple picking. Picturesque hills, vibrant autumn trees - a place where its easy to forget the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.

We wandered through the orchard, picked fresh apples straight from the branches, and filled the trunk with a little piece of autumn to take home.

Sometimes the simplest stops turn into the most memorable moments of a road trip.

Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery

Our next stop was Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, a charming countryside destination known for its Doc’s Hard Cider, locally made wines, and relaxed farm atmosphere. Surrounded by orchards and rolling hills, the winery offers a glimpse into the region’s agricultural traditions and the craft of cider making. After spending the morning picking apples, it felt like a natural continuation of our journey — a chance to discover how one of autumn’s most familiar fruits becomes a signature local drink. The peaceful countryside setting makes it an inviting place to slow down and experience another side of New York beyond the city.

Inside, rustic wooden interiors, warm lighting, and shelves filled with local products create a cozy, welcoming setting. Outside, the patio is surrounded by colorful autumn trees and gardens - a beautiful place to enjoy a leisurely lunch and a glass of cider.

Bellvale Farms Creamery

Our final stop was Bellvale Farms Creamery, a family-owned destination known for its homemade ice cream and freshly made waffle cones. With a farming history dating back to 1819, Bellvale has become a beloved local spot, using fresh milk and cream from its own dairy farm to create a wide variety of ice cream flavors.

Perched on Mount Peter, the creamery offers beautiful panoramic views over Warwick Valley. Wooden picnic tables, a white picket fence, and the surrounding countryside create a peaceful setting to enjoy a sweet treat. In autumn, the hills are covered in shades of gold, orange, and red, making the scenery just as memorable as the ice cream itself.

With two ice cream cones in hand and colorful autumn hills stretching into the distance, it was the perfect way to end our fall road trip.
